Rückblickend hätten wir wohl etwas länger in San Pedro bleiben sollen, so war unser Programm in der Salzwüste im Norden von Chile eher dicht gedrängt: Gleich am ersten Nachmittag gings ins Valle de la Luna und Valle de los Muertos:

Der zweite Tag war mit einer weiteren Tour mit Cosmo Andino ins kühle Hochland (4.000 bis 5.000 Meter) gut gefüllt: Flamingo-Lagune Chaxa in der Salzwüste, Lagune und Vulkan Miñigues und die wunderschöne Salar de Tara (oder wars die Talar de Sala? Eva hat in San Pedro einen leichten Hang zur Legasthenie bei sich festgestellt, lag wohl an der Höhenluft).

Der dritte Tag war dann etwas ruhiger, am Nachmittag gings zum „floaten“ zur Salz-Lagune Cejar und zum Sonnenuntergang zur besonders kitschigen Lagune Tebinquiche: Auf dem türkisen Wasser scheinen Salzschollen zu schwimmen, dahinter die Vulkan- und Bergkette der Anden und die Sonne, die das ganze in die verschiedensten Rottöne taucht. Fotos gibts davon leider keine. Wir mussten feststellen, dass, wenn der Kameraakku mal wirklich leer ist, auch anhauchen und in den Händen wärmen nichts mehr bringt.

Looking back we should have stayed a little longer in San Pedro, so our program in the salt desert in the north of Chile was quite packed: in the first afternoon we went to Valle de la Luna and Valle de los Muertos:

On the second day we did another tour with Cosmo Andino to the cool highlands (4000 to 5000m): the Flamingo lagoon Chaxa in the Atacama desert, lagoon and vulcano Miñigues and the beautiful Salar de Tara (or was it Talar de Sala? Eva had a legasthenic tendency in San Pedro, probably caused by the thin air).

The third day was a bit more quiet, in the afternoon we went „floating“ in the salt lagoon Cejar and for the sun-set to the very corny lagoon Tebinquiche: It seemed like pieces of ice were swimming on the turqoise water, in the background the mountain chain with vulcanos sprinkled in between and the sun made it all glow in different shades of red. Unfortunately we don’t have any photos: when the camery battery is empty, no warming in the hands or breathing hot air onto it helps.
